Pippi Langstrumpf

Pippilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Longstocking is an iconic character created by author Astrid Lindgren. The first books about Pippi and her friends Tommy and Annika were published in 1945, but Pippi herself was born as early as 1941 when Lindgren’s daughter, Karin, was sick with pneumonia and asked her mother to tell a story about „Pippi Longstocking.“ Pippi went on to become one of the world’s most beloved children’s book characters. The remarkable and strong orphaned girl, who lives with her spotted horse and little monkey in the yellow house Villa Villekulla, has charmed both children and adults worldwide. The stories about Pippi have been translated into at least 78 languages and continue to fascinate new generations of readers.

Truly a perfekt fit for the children’s books shelf.
