Novellix offers grand literary experiences in a compact format: pocket-sized short stories! 

We are an independent, boutique publishing house founded and based in Stockholm, Sweden. Novellix publishes small paperbacks with one short story per book, ideal for travelling or whenever the mood to read strikes. The short stories are sold as singles, or presented in beautifully illustrated gift-boxes curated by theme and content. A box filled with stories is a distinctive and thoughtful gift to both give and receive. Our mission is simple: to provide great quality, accessible literature – perfect for the modern reader. 

Founded by Lena Hammargren in 2011, Novellix has published over 300 unique titles in Swedish and an increasing selection of  our titles are now also available in English. Each of our books comprises an independent short story which can easily be enjoyed in one sitting. Our list offers something for everyone; from Nobel Prize-winning authors to thrilling crime-fiction to contemporary classics; including titles by Virginia Woolf, Astrid Lindgren, Oscar Wilde, Selma Lagerlöf and many, many more.

Add style to your bookshelf with Novellix’s elegant bookends depicting the giants of culture! Let Selma Lagerlöf organise your shelf, or have Shakespeare give a tasteful touch with his iconic portrait. Industrial designer Jan Landqvist is responsible for the idea and design of the series titled »Novellix SILUETT« a bookend series of portraits of celebrated authors, thinkers, playwrights and personalities. The elegant bookends are produced in Gnosjö, Sweden and are made from recycled steel treated with a durable black powder coating. A stylish, functional, and distinctive detail to ornament your bookshelf!

Environment and sustainability

Environmental sustainability permeates all of our operations at Novellix. The covers of our books and boxes are printed on FSC-certified paper and are specially made for us by Swedish designers and illustrators. The manufacturing is also climate compensated in accordance with ClimatCalc through investment in the climate compensation project Musi River Vattenkraft. Our bookends are made locally in Gnosjö, Småland and are produced from recycled sheet steel and durable powder coating.
